When you find yourself wanting to redecorate your bedroom, but you do not have a great deal of money to invest in the project, you may find yourself wanting to just give up before you start. After all, many redecorating projects can cost a great deal of money to complete. However, there are methods that you can use to redecorate your bedroom while sticking to a strict budget. All you need to do is be creative and use a few unique ideas and you can make your bedroom seem like a whole new living space. So, get to know a few of the ways that you can redecorate your bedroom cheaply and effectively.
Shop For Fabric Samples And Remnants
When it comes to decorating on a budget, one of the best places to shop for supplies is your local fabric store. However, rather than shopping the larger bolts of full-priced fabrics, look for fabric remnants, samples, and scraps that are priced to sell. These inexpensive pieces of fabric likely look to you like they are too small to do any major decorating. But with a little effort, you can create unique decorative pieces for your bedroom.
Using these smaller scraps of fabric, you can piece together unique throw pillows for your bed in different sizes, shapes, patterns, and colors. You can also create drapery panels, cloth lampshade covers to make your lamps look like new or even frame some of the pieces of fabric in inexpensive frames to create unique and eye-catching wall art.
Paint An Accent Wall Or Stenciled Design
While buying enough paint and supplies to paint all of the walls in your bedroom may be out of the question given your limited budget, you can still make your bedroom painting design look new without going all out. All you need to do is decide what effect you are looking for.
If you want to go simple, you can choose one wall in your bedroom to be an accent wall. You will keep the three remaining walls the previous color and choose a bright or bold color such as deep blue or turquoise, red or green for your accent wall. All you will need is one small to medium can of paint, a brush and a paint roller and tape to cover the edges of the wall. If you do not have a headboard, you may want to choose the accent wall to be the one your bed is against. Otherwise, the wall opposite your bed would be a good option.
If you do not want to go to all the effort of painting an entire wall, you can instead purchase (or make your own) inexpensive stenciling and a small can of paint. You can use the stencil to create a border along the top of one or all of your walls, or create a focal point on your wall. A single stenciled design in the middle of a wall can appear as artwork, for example. Just make sure you choose a paint that pops against the background color of your walls. Metallic paint such as silver or gold are good for this type of project.
As you can see, there are ways that you can redecorate your bedroom on a budget. All you need to do is consider your options, get a bit creative, and get to work on your decorating project. You will have a bedroom that looks like new in no time.
